Four peace committee volunteers killed in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: At least four volunteers of a peace committee were killed in an attack by militants in Budh Bair area of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Saturday.

The sources said that the attackers were surrounded by the security forces, while during the encounter three militants were killed.

Earlier in the day, the security forces killed four suspected militants and recovered a huge cache of arms from them in an encounter at Khanpur area in the Swabi district of the province.

The security forces also arrested nearly 50 suspected militants during the raid in the Shakoli primary school in Khanpur area after receiving a tip off about the presence of militants there.
