PFUJ announces revival of Sindh Unions of Journalists

SUKKUR: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President Afzal Butt has announced the revival of Sindh Unions of Journalists.

The PFUJ president made the announcement in the All Sindh Journalists Convention which was held in Sukkur Press Club in Sukkur city of Sindh province on January 5.

The convention was hosted by Lala Asad Pathan, President Sukkur Press Club, and Shehzad Tabbni, President Sukkur Union of Journalists, while hundreds of Journalists from all districts of the Interior Sindh attended the convention.

The PFUJ President Afzal Butt and Secretary General Khurshid Abbasi were the chief guests of the convention, while Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah participated in the convention as the special chief guest.

In his address to the convention participants, the PFUJ President Afzal Butt said that journalists have rejected all the attempts to divide the PFUJ. The PFUJ President said that unity in Sindh journalists has strong message that all journalists are one voice for security of job and life.

Afzal butt said that journalists can’t be divided by color, language and ethnicity. He said that Sindh is land of peace and saints of peace, adding that the convention will spread a message of solidarity in all over Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the PFUJ President announced that the unions of Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad will be activated and set up a committee to work out a plan.

On the occasion, Lala Asad Pathan was nominated as a member of the executive committee of the PFUJ from Interior Sindh, while one minute silence was observed for killed journalists of the world and special prayers were offered for security and safety of journalists all over the world.

Syed Mumtaz Bokhari- Secretary Sukkur Press Club, Iqbal Malih-Hyderabad Press Club, Zafar Abro-Larkana Press Club, Ishaq Mangrio-Hyderabad Press Club, Irfan Samad-Balochistan union of Journalists, Mohaesh Kumar-Sindhi Media, J Parkash-Editor-Sindhi Newspaper-Ebrat, Imtiaz Khan Faran-Karachi Press Club, Khalid Kokhar- Hyderabad Press Club, Farooq Somro- Hyderabad Press Club, and Shafiud Din Ashraf-APNEC also addressed the convention.

Following the convention, the participants of All Sindh Journalists Convention Sukkur organized a protest rally to condemn the killing of Shan Dhar in Larkana.

Moreover, the PFUJ leader attended memorial reference for late Shan Dher at Larkana Press club. They also condoled the death of Shan Dahar and expressed solidarity of all Pakistan journalists with his family.
