Pakistan’s foreign reserves stand at $3.4 billion: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar said on Friday that foreign exchange reserves of the country have increased by $500 million this week and current reserves are over $3.40 billion.

Talking to media representatives outside the Parliament House in Islamabad‚ the finance minister said that last week on Friday these reserves stood at $2.9 billion.

The finance minister further said that no proposal regarding increase in gas prices is under consideration. He said that the government has fulfilled its all commitments including paying of circular debt.

Dar said that the country is facing severe shortage of natural gas and that it is not being distributed to various sectors on the economy on equitable basis.

The minister said that the government is saving up to Rs53 billion annually after removing subsidy on gas supplied to industries.
