PakistanImran says honeymoon period is over, urges Nawaz to take stand

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the honeymoon period of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government is over, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should now take stand over the national issues.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday, the PTI chief strongly condemned today’s missile strike in Hangu, saying that this is for the first time missile attack was carried out in a settled area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that the lives are people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not secure.

Imran Khan said that the KPK government will provide the names of the people who were killed in the drone attack.

The PTI chief said that his party will stage a strong protest against drone attacks in Peshawar on Saturday and appealed the people to join him. He said that we will prove on Saturday that Pakistan is an honorable nation.

Khan said that an emergency meeting of the KPK cabinet has been convened to discuss the issue of latest drone attack in the province, signaling that that PTI provincial government can officially block the NATO supply line in protest against US drone strikes.

Imran Khan said that his party was mandated to forge peace and end the US-led war in Pakistan.

Imran Khan further stated that the drone strike not hit the Taliban Chief Hakimullah Mehsud but the US bombed the peace process with Taliban with its drone strike.

The PTI chief said that jehadis were created after giving money but today they are being killed by receiving money. It is clear that the government has two-faced policies towards the issues.

Moreover, he termed Rawalpindi tragedy as part of international conspiracy, and said the accident was also a result of Punjab government’s mismanagement.
