ISLAMABAD: Former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will file a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the formation of the special court that will take up treason charges against him for suspending the constitution while proclaiming the state of emergency on November 3, 2007, sources said.

The petition will be filed soon after a notification over the formation of the special court is issued, they said.

The federal government on Tuesday reportedly constituted a three-judge special court to conduct trial against former military ruler.

The three-member bench of the special court will be headed by the Sindh High Court judge Justice Faisal Arab, while Justice Tahira Safdar of the Balochistan High Court and Justice Yawar Ali of the Lahore High Court are the other two judges on the bench.
