KARACHI: Participants of sit-ins that had crippled daily life over the last couple of days in various parts of the country, started calling off their protests overnight after a midnight announcement of Majlis Wahdat-ul Muslimeen (MWM) leader, saying the Quetta blast victims’ bodies would be buried at 9:00 am on Wednesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

In the country’s financial hub, Karachi, dozens of sit-ins that had been staged on the call of Shia organizations, came to an end. However, protesters in Ancholi, Rizvia and Abbas Town said they would continue their sit-ins until the bodies of the blast victims were buried.

The sit-ins against the massacre and to show solidarity with Hazara community were also called off in Lahore areas of Thokar Niaz Baig, Imamia Colony, Airport Road, Ferozpur Road and others.

In twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, participants of sit-ins also called off their protest and dispersed peacefully after the Quetta victims’ families agreed to bury their dead.
