Does Shariah permits to bomb churches?

BlogsDoes Shariah permits to bomb churches?

PESHAWAR: The proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has said that the recent attack on a Peshawar church that killed more than 80 people was carried out in accordance with Shariah laws.

However, it said neither the banned militants organisation nor any of its umbrella groups were involved in the horrific twin suicide bombings which took place on the All Saints Church in Peshawar a couple of weeks ago.

“We didn’t carry out the Church attack. However, we believe it’s according to the Sharia,” the TTP spokesman Shaidullah Shahid said in a telephone interview to British media from an undisclosed location.

Over 80 people including women and children were killed when twin suicide bombers struck at the All Saints Church in Peshawar on September 22.

The TTP spokesman further said that the Pakistani Taliban had given its men a free hand to carry out activities against their enemy.

In contrast to what the militants organization claimed that the recent attack on a Church in Peshawar was in accordance with the Shariah, Islam makes any Muslim majority, anywhere and for all times, the custodians of the minorities’ right to a life of dignity and equal opportunity.

In fact, Islam makes an Islamic state responsible for the protection of lives, honour, property and places of worship of the minorities. Islam seeks to establish such a society where all citizens of the state enjoy equal rights and religion does not become the basis for any discrimination.

According to Islam, the minorities enjoy similar rights in an Islamic state as the Muslims do. Likewise, Islam orders people to worship Allah Almighty but it does not coerce followers of other religions to accept Islam and change their creed.
