“Arifa Bibi stoned to Death”

Social"Arifa Bibi stoned to Death"

PESHAWAR: In yet another act of brutality, a young mother of two, was executed after a Pakistani tribal court sentenced her to death by stoning on charges of possession of a cell phone.

Arifa Bibi was pelted with stones by her own family members including uncle, cousins and others until she died, all because she had a mobile phone.

The reports said that her family was not permitted to be involved in her funeral and later she was laid to rest in the desert far away from her home village.

Since the incident of stoning with Arifa bibi as it occurred on July 11, women’s rights groups have launched an even stronger campaign to put a ban on stoning and they are currently petitioning the United Nations to enact a worldwide ban on such a cruel act.
