Beijing:  Chinese spend $ 85 billion during the New Year celebrations in 7 days. Celebrating New Year according to the lunar calendar during 10 to 16 February, residents of China have spent on buying 85.5 billion dollars. Compared with the previous year, it increased by 14.7%. It is reported by France 24, citing the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic.

The main direction of the Chinese New Year spending were luxury goods (watches, handbags, jewelry, clothing, high-price segment). At the same time, according to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce, the growth rate of retail sales slightly, but it slowed down – last year the increase was 16.2%
