ISLAMAABD: Muhammad Sikandar, the armed man who engaged police in over five-hour dramatic standoff in heart of Islamabad before being shot and seriously wounded, is under treatment in PIMS hospital and is said to be stable.

Islamabad police registered a case against him at Kohsar police station Friday under Section 6 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). Sikandar’s wife Kanwal was also named in the FIR.

Earlier, Doctors of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) said Sikandar was operated upon and then admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Zamurad Khan– a sole politician of PPP got hold of the man sikandar who was making Pakistan state a joke at redzone the police have shot injured and arrested armed person and his wife kanwal after over five hours’ standoff.

Zamurad Khan, PPP leader, showed great courage while helping the police to end hours long standoff and unrest in most sensitive area of the capital city and save children of that person and wife on the scene.

The PPP leader dramatically reached near armed person, who was standing fearlessly with his children and wife in the center of road, and suddenly tried to grab him. The armed person immediately opened fire but luckily, Zamurad Khan remained unharmed.

In the mean time, the police snipers opened fire and shot injured legs of the armed person. The armed person fell down after receiving bullets in legs and other parts of bodies and his weapon slipped from hands.

Zamurad Khan rushed towards children and moved them aside to save from the bullets and police officials rushed towards injured man and grabbed him in bleeding condition.

Injured man was immediately rushed to the PIMS for medical assistance while his wife was also arrested from the scene.

Earlier this evening, a suspicious unidentified armed man with a woman and two children created turmoil in Red Zone of Islamabad.

The unknown armed man, wearing black clothes, entered in Red Zone of Islamabad in a black car, with a woman and two little children, and created fear and harassment with aerial firing in the locality.

The media took immediate notice of man’s firing and suspicious moves in Red Zone of the capital city and started live telecast of the incident and continued airing updates till end of the standoff.

Heavy contingent of police and a large number of local people also gathered around the car of the suspicious person, at some distance.

The man was carrying two automatic weapons and he continued firing with those to create harassment with breaks to keep the crowd and police away from his car.

Many senior police officials including SSP Dr. Rizwan were also present at the scene to control the situation and persuade the man to surrender peacefully.

The hostage like situation continued at the location as the armed man was sitting very comfortably in the car, parked in the center of main road, and his two children were sitting on back seat with ease while the woman was moving around as a negotiator between her husband and police officials.

The woman was constantly talking on mobile phone to someone and some time she gave her mobile phone to that armed person to talk.The police and rangers cordoned off the area while four sharp shooters were also placed in different directions to take action when get chance.

Despite repeated requests from the police officials, the armed man refused to surrender the weapons and him.

The man made some ambiguous demands in between the negotiations with SSP Dr. Rizwan through that woman.

The man demanded presence of at least five senior police officials for further talks and negotiations with him. He revealed on the scene that he was doing that all for Islam; he also made demand for Islam in the country.

Sources have revealed that the armed man is Sikandar s/o Malik and he belongs to Mohala Qazipura of Punjab’s Hafizabad area.

The woman is his wife and her name is Kanwal. Children’s names are Abdullah and Farwa and they are son and daughter of Sikandar and Kanwal.

People of Sikandar’s residential area in Hafizabad have told that he is a drug addict and have another wife, Hania, in Dubai. This man had also lived in Dubai for many years and he was deported from there in 1990. Few years back, he settled in Mohala Qazipura of Hafizabad.

The neighbors have informed that Sikandar is a man of strange conduct and do not have good reputation in the locality.
