Regional TerrorismLahore: 5 robbers with head-money killed in police ‘encounter’

LAHORE: Police on Monday convicted search operation killed five alleged bandits, each bearing Rs.3 lakh head-money, in an encounter in Lahore.

Official said the bandits were wanted to police in various cases of murders and kidnapping for ransom.

Sharing details with media representatives this morning, police inspector Rana Haseeb said that the encounter took place in Bediyan Road last night on a tip off about presence of seven proclaimed offenders in the area.

At which, police parties arrived in the area and cordoned it off to take the action which left five of the bandits dead. Surprisingly, no causality took place at police side as two of the bandits managed to flee the shootout.

The bandits, identified as Irfan, Babar, Tanvir Hussain, Muhsin and Imran, were bearing Rs.3 lakh head-money apiece.

Lahore police often kills bandits in suspected encounters, a big question mark on the performance of law enforcers.
