BusinessSCB to issue new currency notes world Rs 135 billion before Eid

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SCB) has announced of issuing new currency notes world Rs 135 billion before Eid-ul-Fitr to meet demand of people.

Printing of new currency notes has been started in the Security Printing Press of Pakistan while scheduled banks have begun delivery those notes to the common people for using on Eid day.

People are coming to banks for getting new currency notes but return back in desperation after failing to get some while cashiers of banks are also troubled by public’s over whelmed demand.

To meet the demand of new currency notes, the SCB has opened 90 Express Delivery Centers across the country.

Those who fail to get new currency rates on normal rates from the banks; they go to the illegal currency dealers and get required currency notes after paying additional charges.
