UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has called for an end to arms supplies to all sides in the Syrian conflict is the only way for the peace of country .

Addressing a meeting of the UN Security Council‚ Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khan said only a political solution could pave the way towards peace in that country.

He said the Council and the international community must bring the Syrian government and opposition representatives to Geneva for talks to facilitate a political solution and national reconciliation.

Masood Khan warned that more arms will only lead to bloodshed and not peace.

He said Pakistan believes that in this war there will be no victors as Syrians are killing the Syrians and the entire nation is suffering.

The Pakistan Envoy said a meltdown in Syria would fracture the entire region.
