KARACHI: The city police along with the sensitive agencies, foiled a potentially massive terror bid in the city and seized huge caches of arms and ammunition.

According to details, police were tipped off about the truck laden with weapons entering the Karachi City from Super Highway for a huge sabotage activity here.

Receiving the report, police in concert with the sensitive agencies, took prompt action, arrested two terrorists and impounded the truck packed with weapons hidden in wooden sections specially constructed for the purpose.

SSP South Nasir Aftab said the arrested saboteurs belong to a banned outfit, adding the terrorists wanted bloodletting in the city on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ali (R.A.).

The police official noted accessories of the arrested miscreants will soon be captured.

The recovered weapons include light machine guns and MCGs. A dagger was also taken in custody from the miscreants’ possession.
