KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said he satisfied Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan that all is faring quite well in Karachi.

Leaders of various political parties including Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Awami National Party (ANP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Sunni Tehreek attended the iftar party hosted by Sindh government at Chief Minister House.

Addressing the iftar party, Chief Minister Shah noted it is the government, not Supreme Court of Pakistan, to give date for Local Bodies elections. However, in a unique somersault, he changed his stance after the iftar reception, saying, “The Sindh government will hold local bodies elections tomorrow if so decreed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.”
