Monitoring Report: The Federal Minister of Information Ministry of Pakistan has confirmed that Pakistan launched precise aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan’s border areas, targeting sites used to launch and store drones that had entered Pakistani airspace. These strikes were in response to drone attacks launched from Afghan territory on 23 September 2026 inside Pakistan’s territory.
Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar in his X message said that Pakistan has repeatedly conveyed its grave concerns to the Afghan Taliban regime and its interlocutors regarding the continued presence of terrorist sanctuaries and their support networks on Afghan soil. The Minister said that instead of dismantling these networks and taking credible and verifiable action against those using Afghan territory to perpetrate terrorism against Pakistan, the Afghan Taliban regime has chosen to escalate the situation through hostile drone operations against Pakistan.
“Pakistan’s Air Defence systems detected, tracked and neutralised all intruding platforms before they could reach any of their intended targets, comprehensively thwarting the attempted attack. In exercise of its sovereign right to self-defence, Pakistan conducted precision aerial and drone strikes against 10 locations in Afghanistan used for launching and storing these drones. The strikes were deliberate, precise, calibrated and proportionate and strictly limited to identified military objectives directly linked to the attempted attacks against Pakistan”, the X message of Minister added.
He said that Pakistan does not seek escalation and remains committed to regional peace, dialogue and constructive engagement. This commitment must not be mistaken for weakness or an unlimited tolerance of hostile actions. Pakistan will defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and the lives of its citizens with full resolve and will take all necessary measures to protect them. Any further provocative act by Afghan Taliban will be responded with firm and resolute response.
Meanwhile unconfirmed information suggests that three strikes conducted in Kandahar, Afghanistan at approximately 0330 PST on Camp Gecko, located between Kandahar’s 13th District and Arghandab, at a known terrorist camp housing both BLA and al-Qaeda terrorists in Mian Koh, Kandahar’s 11th District, along with nearby weapons depots.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, told TOLOnews that attacks caused no casualties or damage. Although the sound of the explosion was loud and could be heard across Kandahar city, Afghan security officials assured residents that there was no cause for concern.
While Mustaghfir Gurbaz, spokesperson for the Khost governor, also reported strikes stating that at around 3:30 a.m., airstrikes were carried out on the Gulan camp in Gurbuz district, as well as in parts of Ismail Khel and Mandozai district.
