UNAMA, in its X message, said that at least three civilians, including a man, a woman and a girl, were killed and four injured in apparent airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar province in the early hours of September 21.
This is not the first time UNAMA has reported such information because TTP terrorists always live with their families and UNAMA reported whenever terrorists are killed by airstrikes. This factor was reported by international as well as local media when TTP terrorists were rehabilitated back to Pakistan during the PTI era; they brought their families, along with their weapons, to Pakistan. Unfortunately, TTP uses families as human shields and also prefers to live in congested, settled areas in Pakistan. The Bajaur operation also exposed this tactic of TTP when hundreds of terrorists were killed while living inside populated villages of Bajaur and other regions of KP.
International organisations such as UNAMA should suggest that terrorists not live with their families because their families can become collateral damage when attacks are launched against them in response to the killings of thousands of innocent people who lost their lives in suicide and other attacks by TTP terrorists inside Pakistan. Around 42 terrorists were killed in Afghanistan on September 21, 2026, as part of ongoing Pakistani cross-border operations targeting TTP militants.
Pakistan’s Information Ministry, through an X message, said that, responding to recent multiple terrorist incidents inside Pakistan against innocent people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a well-planned intelligence-based ground operation was carried out by security forces around Kohat, Hangu and Thall, followed by calibrated airstrikes against the hideouts and safe havens of terrorist organisations responsible for these attacks. X message added that three targets were destroyed with precision, including a suicide bombers’ training markaz, killing 28 terrorists alongside multiple suicide bombers. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at these markaz and hideouts were also destroyed.
When asked to comment, a journalist from Peshawar said that TTP fighters routinely live with their families, raise their children, [lay with them and kill the innocent children of others. They should know that death can also knock on their doors when they are brutally killing others.
