The UK, Canada and Australia recognize the State of Palestine

Monitoring Desk: The United Kingdom, Canada and Australia recognize the State of Palestine. “Today, to revive the hope of peace for Palestinians and Israelis and a two-state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognizes the State of Palestine,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote in a post on X announcing the recognition of the Palestinian state by the United Kingdom, reports Adnkronos.

Canada will also officially recognize the Palestinian state. This was announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney in a post on X. “Canada recognizes the State of Palestine and offers our partnership in building the promise of a peaceful future for the State of Palestine and the State of Israel.”
Same pace from Australia. “Australia recognises the legitimate and historic aspirations of the Palestinian people for a state of their own.” With these words, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the official recognition of the State of Palestine, following the decision already taken by Canada and the United Kingdom.
In a letter published in X, Albanese stressed that “the president of the Palestinian Authority reiterated recognition of Israel’s right to exist and provided direct commitments to Australia, including those to hold democratic elections and implement significant reforms in finance, governance and education.” The prime minister then added that “the terrorist organization Hamas must have no role in Palestine”.
