DND Report: “Hinduism is not the name of a single religion; rather, it is an umbrella term for a group of similar religions. According to the discussion, white-skinned Brahmins brought their own religion when they invaded the Indian subcontinent; therefore, Hinduism was not originally born in this land but is an “imported” school of thought. The only religion that originated in the region is Sikhism, which was founded in present-day Pakistani and Indian Punjab”.
This claim was made in a Punjabi-language vlog Facts With JC during a discussion between senior journalist and vlogger Jabbar Chaudhary and foreign affairs expert and author Dr. Shazia Anwer Cheema, whose doctoral research focused on the history of Punjab, Hinduism, and the Punjabi language.
According to the discussion, the word Hindu was given by Arabs to the people of the land historically known as the Indo-Pak subcontinent. Hinduism is highly diverse, a family of religions rather than a single faith. Within Hinduism, there is a wide range of beliefs and practices from which followers may choose. As a whole, Hinduism represents the entire complex of traditions and institutions that have developed from the time of the ancient scriptures to the present. The participants argued that when white-skinned Brahmins invaded the region, they brought their own belief system, which continues to influence Hindu practices.

They further noted that the Vedas were not written thousands of years ago as often claimed; instead, their manuscripts are relatively recent, and their original date of writing remains unknown. The speakers concluded that what many Hindus present today is a theatrical, embellished version of history rather than the original reality. They emphasized that Sikhism is the only indigenous religion of the subcontinent, which is why it has historically been targeted by invaders and foreign religious traditions introduced to the region.

The vlog offers an alternative perspective, highlighting the difference between the original history of Hinduism and the distorted, theatrical version shaped by myths and legends.
