Monitoring Desk: Pakistan-born journalist Ashfaq Ahmed has been promoted to the position of Managing Editor at Gulf News. He has been associated with the newspaper for the past 27 years.

The longest-serving Pakistani journalist in the UAE Ashfaq Ahmad of Gulf New was also awarded.

Starting his career at an English daily in Lahore, he later joined Gulf media and has been with Gulf News ever since. From the beginning of his career, Ashfaq has been known for his hard work, professionalism, dedication, and commitment. His promotion to Managing Editor is an honour for the journalistic community of Pakistan and a source of pride for Pakistani journalists, as their colleague has reached a key leadership role in international journalism.
