DND Report
Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again launched propaganda against the Pakistan Army, which aims to inflame public sentiments against the leadership of the Pakistan Army.
Eldest sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, Aleema Khan, whose several financial corruption scandals have come to light, has given a message to the media that appears to be from the founder of PTI, but in fact is a systematic lie and baseless accusations. This message not only made serious allegations against the top military leadership but also said that if anything happens to the founder of PTI in jail, the responsibility will fall on the COAS of the Pakistan Army, and revenge will be taken from him.
In this propaganda, a self-made narrative of a meeting between the top military leadership and the wife of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, is being fabricated. Government circles claim that “shameful allegations against the Army’s leadership are to divert attention from the incompetence of the PTI-led KPK governance and large-scale corruption. The mass-scale propaganda functions formatted by crafting a non-existent threat indicate that PTI drives against politicians, parliament, judiciary, and democracy in the past and now against the Pakistan Army are designed to discredit Pakistan as a state, and this format is famous in history to wage narrative wars against nations to disrupt their prosperity and development.
This is not the first time PTI crafted propaganda based on the allegation that “Imran Khan’s life is under threat”. In the past, on several occasions, Imran Khan claimed, “I will be killed”, and his party leaders claimed that “Imran Khan will be poisoned if he goes to jail”. Such presumed threats had been used to call PTI workers to come out in the streets and attack the military installations (May 9, 2023, events). because Imran Khan will be killed in jail.
It may be remembered that PTI leaders released messages (on May 8 and 9, 2023) through WhatsApp groups that attacking military-related places would result in mutiny within the Army, and Imran Khan would be released and would be made Prime Minister again. Such fictitious and surreal threats had been used as corresponding signifiers and correlated with signified information. The recent propaganda of PTI against the Pakistan Army can be studied to understand further. This malignant propaganda against the Pakistan Army prevailed on the same mechanism of a pretend game, an imaginary role of vigilante (Imran Khan), an imaginary enemy as the Pakistan Army, and an actual action of elimination and safety in terms of bashing and slurring. This whoopla is based on a hybrid phenomenon and can be done with different operative mechanics. The foremost aspect of creating a base for negative propaganda is building a mental image, so PTI’s propagandists build allegations of “wrongdoings done by the Pakistan Army”, then PTI develops a chain of allegations which includes that the Pakistan Army subjugates civilians. Systematic persistence of this narrative provides ground for a “dire need of a vigilante or a terminator,” and that is Imran Khan.
It is a fact that this party made every possible effort to harm Pakistan. It made several sinister attempts to spread hatred against the Pakistani Army and institutions through social media. Even Indian journalists and ex-military officers had pinned great hopes on PTI for creating fault lines between civilians and the Pakistan Army. After the failure, these Indian and Zionist agents are under severe pressure. A simple, thoughtful reading and listening of Indian journalists and security experts, and then comparing their statements with allegations of PTI’s leadership against the Army, surely indicates that PTI leaders such as Aleema Khan are mere puppets, and the language and allegations against the top military leadership are tantamount to a conspiracy by Indian and Zionist slaves.
“They level baseless accusations against institutions to cover up their party’s failures, internal fighting, and corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, the public has recognized the chaotic thinking and politics of this party, and the public’s non-participation in all of its protests is proof that the public has rejected this party and its false narrative”, commented a senior journalist, Aijaz Ahmed, who covers legal proceedings against Imran Khan in Aidiala Jail regularly.
Strangely, a person who had tried his best to discredit Pakistan as a state, who had attacked the Pakistan Army, Parliament, and Judiciary, enjoys exceptional state-provided facilities in Adiala Jail.
According to the official statement of the Superintendent jail, Imran Khan enjoys exceptional privileges inside the jail, far exceeding those usually granted to B-class prisoners. His official statements confirm that Imran Khan has been provided access to all B-class facilities, including food of his choice prepared by a designated prisoner cook, health services, personal books, daily newspapers, and an exercise cycle. He has also been allotted a complex comprising seven cells and an open courtyard for walking, has an LED television in his cell, and has been actively engaging with the outside world, including national and international media. During the past year alone, his statements have made headlines on 45 different occasions with outlets such as Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, ITV, Reuters, and The Telegraph.
Pakistan Army is not as much suffering from what is being talked about; it is suffering more than what is not talked about. In the past, the subject of banning PTI came to the surface but then died down, even after the official announcement of the government to ban this group that is a constant threat to national security.
Now, the time has come for the state to rein in anarchist-minded leadership so that anti-patriotic elements can be completely eradicated and remedied, which is indispensable for Pakistan’s development and security. In this regard, the government’s ban on PTI is the need of the hour.
