The forthcoming 51st G7 Summit that will be held from 15 to 17 June 2025 in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, will be an interesting global gathering that will help define the future of BRICS, Sikh Movement in the Global North, the future role of India in the Indo-Pacific, and the Indo-Russo relationship.

Three BRICS founding members, Brazil, India, and South Africa, are on the invitation list for the Summit that will discuss Ukraine’s long-term prosperity and security, and strengthening sanctions and countering hybrid warfare and sabotage. BRICS by design was formed against the Global North’s lethal “sanction weapon,” and it would be interesting to note what position Brazil, South Africa, and India will take when the matter of further sanctions on Russia is on the table. Though BRICS members will be there as invitees and not participating in the voting of the post-Summit Declaration, but will have the opportunity to share their minds during the Summit’s activities.

“More interestingly, French Emmanuel Macron will be there to share the sorrow of the Indian defeat that is claimed to be “won” by French-made Dassault Rafale fighter jets”

The other important topics on the agenda are: Regional peace and stability in the Middle East; Cooperation to increase security and resilience across the Indo-Pacific; Building stability and resilience in Haiti and Venezuela; and Supporting lasting peace in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The pre-Summit takeaways are also important and include that Canada invited Indian PM Modi despite Indian’s direct involvement in Transcontinental terrorism conducted inside Canada. The Canadian Prime Minister has said that since the case is still under investigation so there is no harm in inviting India. His statement works as an indicator to Canadian investigators how important India is for Canada, so one can guess what be result of this “investigation” will be now. Additionally, he stated that India is very important for Canada. Do we remember India’s alleged involvement in Canada’s political sphere against former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government?  The global Sikh community should be ready for a clean chit to India that it had not been “directly” and as a “state” was behind the murders and attempted murders of Sikhs in Canada. PM Mark Carney not only defended his decision to invite India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, to the upcoming G7 Summit (despite the conclusion of Canada’s federal police’s that the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar was orchestrated by the “highest levels” of the Indian government) rather Carney refused to answer questions over this subject.

G7 Summit, BRICS, Sikh’s moment and Russian stakes

There are special messages for China and Russia too, and one of such is that BRICS has a partner who is a net security provider of the Global North in Indo-Pacific and cannot be trusted when and where it will be needed by BRICS. China does not trust India, but Russia does. Another interesting situation will be when the Summit will talk further sanctions on Russia over the Ukraine conflict, and when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will demand help from the G-7 to win the war against Russia. Being a close ally of the Kremlin, Modi will have an option to keep silent over the Ukraine issue. Indian security experts indicate that Modi will talk only about of alleged involvement of Pakistan in terrorism, referencing Agenda item “Strengthening sanctions and countering hybrid warfare and sabotage”. Many European security experts claim that the success of Ukraine’s attack on Russian airfields was managed and planned by NATO to place Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a “War Hero” in the forthcoming 51st G7 Summit. This event will showcase that Zelenskyy can defeat Russia if he is provided AI, military hardware, and financial resources without further delay.

In every sense, this Summit is interesting to follow as the Indian delegation is bringing its Media Corps that will keep answering questions to G-7 leaders about Pakistan’s alleged involvement in the Pahalgam incident and will try their best to de-hyphenate Pakistan from India. Right now, India is facing extreme global isolation after Pakistan defeated India in the May 2025 Indo-Pak battle, but the Canadian PM has offered it an opportunity to present its case to global media as well as global leadership. More interestingly, French Emmanuel Macron will be there to share the sorrow of the Indian defeat that is claimed to be “won” by French-made Dassault Rafale fighter jets.
