Islamabad, Pakistan: Indian aggression launched on Pakistan under “Operation Sindoor” and Pakistan’s counterattack “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos” left six Indian fighter jets destroyed, several Indian airfields damaged to a level of being non-operational, a dust licking defeat for India and a reality check in the diplomatic sphere for both the countries.
The diplomatic response can be divided into three tiers- those who stand with, those who expressed concerns about military engagement between the two arch rivals, and those who stood indifferent about whatever was going on in the Indian subcontinent.
For India, it was a total diplomatic defeat as only Israel stood with India’s aggression, while the United States, China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan categorically stood with Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia, UAE and Iran initiated a role of “go-between” immediately for ceasefire while Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan and Indonesia called immediate ceasefire between the both countries and urged them to resolve the issue peacefully.
Afghanistan was the only neighbor that stood indifferent during the situation and also rejected Pakistan’s information that one of the Indian missiles hit Afghan soil.
This Indian aggression would help Pakistan to review its diplomatic standing has enhanced its confidence that it has many friends who stood with Pakistan, while it was a reality check for India that its fallacy of isolating Pakistan was otherwise.
