Monitoring Desk: India is the top country in South Asia in terms of US deportation, as 1,529 Indians were deported in 2024, compared to 370 who were removed (deported) in 2023.
The surge in deportation is mostly linked with sexual abuse and financial fraud. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removes noncitizens deemed a threat to the safety of the United States or who violate immigration laws.
