ISLAMABAD: Justice Nasirul Mulk on Monday excused himself from hearing the petition challenging cancelation of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf’s bail in judges’ detention case.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had rejected Musharraf’s pre-arrest bail in a case pertaining to the detention of superior judiciary judges during 2007 emergency in the country imposed by the former military chief following suspension of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

The CJP also excused himself from hearing the petition last week.

On Monday, the Supreme Court was hearing this case which was filed by petitioner Aslam Ghumman Advocate.

Justice Nasirul Mulk was among group of judges who faced actions by former military ruler during the emergency.

On the request of Musharraf’s counsel Ilyas Siddiqui, the apex court adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
