LAHORE, Pakistan: Reaffirming the commitment to relieving the people from inflation, the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has issued an order to complete the legal process for the establishment of Enforcement Regulatory Authority as soon as possible.

In special meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in Lahore on Tuesday, a detailed briefing was given on the progress of the establishment of the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority.

The Chief Minister remarked that the establishment of a competent authority to control artificial inflation and hoarding is essential. She said that the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority will play an effective role in curbing inflation.

It was informed in the meeting that Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authorities will be established at the Provincial, Divisional, District, and Tehsil Levels.

In each District, a District Enforcement Regulatory Board will be formed, and at the Tehsil Level, the Sub-Divisional Enforcement Officer will ensure the implementation of the law.

The Hearing Officer at the Tehsil Level will hear appeals and issue decisions.

In each Tehsil, the Enforcement Regulatory Officer along with 40 personnel will monitor the prices of essential items and take necessary action.

Effective measures will also be taken against profiteers based on public complaints.

Furthermore, to permanently eliminate encroachments, actions will be continued at the Tehsil Level, and timelines will be set for decisions in four Appellate Forums at the Tehsil Level.
