ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A social media policy for federal police officers and personnel has been introduced, prohibiting them from using social media platforms.

According to the details, without prior approval, police officers/personnel are prohibited from speaking on public forums in an official capacity, publishing articles in print media, or expressing any opinions or official statements on any social media platforms.

There is also a ban on making videos or taking pictures in official premises, buildings, and in police uniforms.

Additionally, personal promotion while visiting private locations or vehicles is forbidden.

No one is allowed to upload any type of confidential or official documents, images, or materials on social media.

Police officers are not permitted to share personal political or religious views, and official police activities will only be managed through public relations channels.

Officers/personnel wishing to highlight positive departmental activities via videos or other social media platforms must obtain formal departmental approval through the Public Relations Branch, with clearance from the DIG Headquarters and CPO.

The heads of units are personally responsible for supervising and monitoring the activities of officers/personnel assigned to their respective divisions, zones, and units.

In case of any violations, strict departmental action will be taken in accordance with the rules.
