The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) take action against traffic violations under 10th and 12th Schedule of National Highways and Safety Ordinance, 2000.
Fine amount under 12th Schedule of NHSO-2000 were enhanced by the government of Pakistan vide S.R.O No. 1418 (I)/2019 and the sameare being implemented on National Highways and Motorway Police across the Country.
In order to keep deterrence and discipline, the government has enhanced the fine amount after thorough deliberation and consideration of all aspects.
The object and purpose of fines under the National Highways Safety Ordinance, 2000 is to ensure compliance with rules for safety of the commuters and to prevent accidents on the National Highways and Motorways. These fines act as deterrent to the intending violators who tend to violate law with impunity.
