QUETTA: The spokesperson of the Balochistan Chief Minister, Jan Muhammad Buledi’s, nephew was shot dead in Turbat town of the insurgency-hit Balochistan province on Friday, Levies officials said.

Two armed militants on a motorcycle opened fire at Chiragh Buledi, the nephew of Jan Buledi, in Buleda area of Turbat, leaving him seriously injured, officials said. Later, Chiragh succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital, they added.

The attackers managed to escape after the attack, they said. Levies personnel reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.

Jan Mohammad Buledi is the central secretary information of ruling Baloch nationalist party, National Party (NP) led by Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
