RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan Army has taken three more retired officers into military custody for their actions prejudicial to military discipline.

In a statement on Thursday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the arrest of three more Pakistan army’s retired officers took pace in connection with the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) proceedings of Lt General (retd) Faiz Hameed.

The ISPR said that the further investigations of certain retired officers and their accomplices for fomenting instability at the behest of and in collusion with vested political interests are continuing.

Earlier on August 12, Pakistan Army initiated the Court Martial proceedings against the former Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt General (retd) Faiz Hameed and took him into military custody.

The ISPR had said that a detailed Court of Inquiry was undertaken by Pakistan Army to ascertain correctness of complaints in the Top City Case made against Lt General (retd) Faiz Hameed in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Consequently, appropriate disciplinary action was initiated against Lt General (retd) Faiz Hameed under provisions of Pakistan Army Act.

In addition, multiple instances of violation of Pakistan Army Act post retirement was also established.
