ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Taking a jibe at India, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said that where are they today who used to say that they have drowned the two-nation theory in the Bay of Bengal.

It’s worth noting that the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had said at the time of creation of Bangladesh in 1971 that “We have drowned the two-nation theory in the Bay of Bengal.”

While addressing Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad on Thursday, the COAS said that Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of Indo-Pak partition.

Lamenting the atrocities on the innocent people of Palestine and Gaza, he said that his heart sheds tears of blood on seeing it, adding that from Palestine, we get a lesson that we have to protect ourselves and make Pakistan strong.

Speaking on extremism, the Army Chief said that Allah says that there is no compulsion in religion. He said that anarchy is spread through social media. He said that criminals and smugglers are supporting terrorism.

General Asim Munir further said that the greatest crime in the sight of Allah is corruption in the land. He said that Pakistan Army is working hard to end corruption in the world as per the order of Allah. He added that we do not consider those who do not follow Shariat and Constitution as Pakistanis.

In addition, he said that for more than 40 years, Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghans. He said that we are explaining to them not to oppose their neighbor brotherly Islamic Country and longtime friend for the sake of Kharijite sedition.

The COAS said that our Pakhtun brothers and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have made a lot of sacrifices in the war against terrorism and we stand with them appreciating their efforts.

General Asim Munir also said that we tell the people that if you want to protest, do it but be peaceful.

Commenting on the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon Him), the Army Chief said, “No one has the courage to insult the glory of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The COAS said that if someone tries to create anarchy in Pakistan, by God, we will stand against him.

The Army Chief said that no power in the world can harm Pakistan because it was created to last and it would exist till eternity.

The Army Chief requested the Ulema and Mashaikh to encourage tolerance and unity instead of extremism or discrimination. He said that scholars should bring back moderation in the society and reject corruption.
