Pakistan ArmyTTP to be called ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ says DG ISPR as he briefs...

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held a media briefing in Rawalpindi on Monday to apprise the nation on the Country’s security situation, and said that neither Pakistan army is following any political ideology nor a group; rather, Pakistan matters the most to it and the army has never hesitated to take the Country out of crisis.

While giving an overview, he said that around 23,622 intelligence based operations (IBOs) were conducted across the Country in 2024 while 2,025 of them were carried out in last 15 days, resulting in the killing of 24 terrorists.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) will be called as “Fitna al-Khawarij”, adding that the government of Pakistan has banned two terrorist organizations.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the security forces, along with other law enforcement agencies (LEAs), conduct over 100 operations on daily basis.

The director general ISPR said that the security forces also killed Kharji elements in Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts. He said that 139 valiant officers and officials of the security forces embraced martyrdoms during these operations.

The DG ISPR said that the armed forces are fighting against terrorism and this battle will continue till the elimination of last terrorist from the soil of Pakistan. He said that the entire nation is proud of its brave sons and presents tribute to their families.

Furthermore, he said that besides counterterrorism measures, the armed forces are playing a leading role in the education, health, agriculture and other sectors by establishing public welfare projects in various parts of the Country, especially in merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

In connection with Youm-e-Istehsal, the DG ISPR said that the armed forces of Pakistan are standing with the just struggle of the valiant people of Kashmir for their right to self-determination.

Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that inhuman lockdown, illegal Indian actions to change the demographic structure of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as grave human rights violations are an open transgression of international laws and a threat to the regional peace.

The director general ISPR said that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in light of the UN resolutions and as per the aspirations of Kashmiris is inevitable for durable peace and stability in the region.

Calling Baloch Yakjehti Committee a proxy of terrorist organisations and criminal mafias, the DG ISPR alleged that it was tasked to defame and spread propaganda against law enforcement agencies taking action against smugglers and criminals in Balochistan.
