ISLAMABAD: Canadian High Commissioner Greg Giokas called on Federal finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Greg Giokes held the meeting with Pakistani Finance Minister in Islamabad on Thursday and exchanged views over mutual interests.

The Canadian envoy congratulated him over his party PML-N’s clear victory in the general elections and smooth continuation of the democratic process in Pakistan

.Ishaq Dar briefed the Canadian High Commissioner about financial and economic condition of Pakistan and current regime’s strategy to deal with challenges being faced by the country.

Pakistan is facing challenges in recovery of tax revenues and maintaining production; Canadian technical assistance in this regard could help in achieving targets of the production and revenues, said the finance minister to the visiting Canadian diplomat.

Canadian High Commissioner assured Pakistani Finance Minister that he would talk to Canadian deputy minister of revenues about his (Ishaq Dar’s) request of assistance.
