KARACHI, Pakistan: The World’s largest bus manufacturer Yutong has decided to set up a plant for Intra-City and Electronic (EV) Buses in Karachi.

The Chief Executive Officer of Utong Middle East Shen Hui and other Officials met with the Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Karachi.

Yutong decided to set up a plant for manufacturing Intra-City and EV Buses in Karachi in response to an invitation extended by Sharjeel Memon in July 2022.

The Company, according Sharjeel Memon, will initiate the work on setting up the plant within three months and that will be completed next year.

The minister said that now the Yutong Intra-City and EV Buses will be manufactured in Karachi. He said that the plant will manufacture EV Buses and Hybrid Diesel Buses.

Sharjeel Memon said that the by setting up the plant, industries will be promoted and new employment opportunities will be generated.

The Sindh minister said that the production of buses in Karachi will also save Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves in addition to benefiting the Country by exporting buses.
