ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Following directives of the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Islamabad police launched a crackdown on kite flyers in areas adjacent to Rawalpindi and arrested 23 persons.
The Ministry of Interior said that the police conducted 39 raids to arrest those involved in selling and flying kites.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi took notice of the death of a seven-year-old girl due to the string of a stray kite within the jurisdiction of Khanna Police Station, and summoned a report from the IG Islamabad. He ordered strict legal action against those responsible.

The interior minister extended heartfelt sympathy and condolence to the family of the deceased. He said that the government shares in the grief and pain of the victim’s family in this hour of grief.
Mohsin Naqvi ordered to ensure strict implementation of kite-flying ban in Islamabad. He directed that indiscriminate action should be taken against the violation of the kite-flying ban.
