NEW YORK: The Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with his Chinese Counterpart QI Yanjun at the Office of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides had a detailed discussion on Pakistan-China relations and security issues.
The discussions regarding China’s cooperation with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) as well as training and use of modern equipment and technology also took place.

The Chinese side said that they will provide full technical support to the training and capacity building of Pakistani law enforcement agencies.
QI Yanjun appreciated the initiative of establishing the Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Islamabad for the protection of foreigners, especially Chinese citizens. He assured to extend full cooperation with regard to the training the Special Protection Unit and other matters.
The Chinese minister said that Pakistan and China are all-weather friends, and their friendship is stronger than steel.
The Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed about the progress on the tragic incident that happened in Dasu while QI Yanjun expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far in the case, saying that Pakistani institutions have diligently and professionally traced the case.
QI Yanjun invited Mohsin Naqvi to participate in the Global Security Forum to be held in China in September 2024 which the latter accepted with words of thanks.
The interior minister also extended an invitation to QI Yanjun to visit Pakistan.
It was told that an Advisory Group of the Ministry of Interior of the People’s Republic of China will visit Pakistan soon.
