Two successive Lahore blasts hurt 20

LAHORE: At least 20 persons were injured when two back-to-back explosions ripped through a busy vegetable market in Badami Bagh Wednesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 01 August, 2012.

The circumstantial evidence implied that the first bomb was planted under a push cart while the second bomb was planted in a parking lot.

“We were busy in our usual work at the market when the first blast occurred on the main road which has the truck and vehicle stands as well adjacent to the Sabzi Mandi,” said Akhtar Hussain, one of the injured.

A senior police official said that most of the injured persons were manual labourers who had been in the area which was so crowded when the bomber unleashed mayhem by exploding two remote control bombs.
