ASTANA, Kazakhstan: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday called on Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Presidential Palace “Akorda” as part of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ audience in Astana.

The deputy prime minister conveyed sincere greetings and warm wishes from President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the Kazakh president and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire to further expand cooperation with Kazakhstan in all spheres.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the role of the leadership of both countries in strengthening the mutually beneficial multifaceted ties and cooperation in multilateral forums.

In addition, he highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s Presidency of SCO and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support to the success of the Kazakh Summit to be held in July in Astana.

Senator Ishaq Dar is currently leading the Pakistani delegation to the regular meeting of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers being held in Astana from May 20 to 21, 2024.

In Astana, Ishaq Dar also held separate meetings with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev on the sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Meeting to discuss bilateral areas of cooperation.
