ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The younger brother of senior journalist and anchorperson Mateen Haider was abducted on Wednesday morning while he was on his way from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

In a post on his X handle, Mateen Haider told that his younger brother professor Arfeen Haider was on way to his College in H-8 Islamabad; however, he never reached the College.

Mateen Haider told that professor Arfeen Haider is a peaceful person and not indulged in any political or religious activity.

The journalist pleaded that his brother’s health is not good; therefore, police and Intelligence agencies are requested to speed up efforts for tracing and recovering him.

The investigative journalist Israr Ahmed Rajpoot also apprised on the microblogging site X that educationist Professor Arfeen Haider was abducted at 08:00 am from outside the PC Hotel in Rawalpindi, a few yards away from the heavily guarded Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ).

Israr Ahmed Rajpoot lamented that the Rawalpindi Police remains clueless about Arfeen Haider so far.
