ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In total, 128,585,760 registered voters across the Country are set to exercise their right to vote on Thursday as the Country braces for general elections 2024.

The polling will begin at 08:00 am and will continue till 05:00 pm without any interval.

The elections are being held on 265 seats of National Assembly and 590 seats of four Provincial Assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

In total, 5,121 candidates including 4,807 male, 312 female and two transgenders are in the race for the National Assembly seats.

While for the four Provincial Assemblies, 12,695 candidates are in the field including 12,123 male, 570 women and two transgenders.

Punjab has the most number of 73, 207,896 registered voters followed by Sindh with 26,994,769, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 21,928,119, Balochistan with 5,371,947, and Islamabad 1,083,029.

For the polling, 90,777 polling stations have been established nationwide. Of these, 44,000 polling stations have been declared normal, 29,985 sensitive, and 6,766 highly sensitive.

About 650,000 security personnel including the personnel of police, civil armed forces, and the armed forces have been deployed on the ground to ensure the security of the voters.

Under a three-tiered system, the personnel of the armed forces are performing duties outside the polling stations.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all arrangements for the polling. It has completed the delivery of around 260 million ballot papers.

In the Federal Capital, police personnel have reached the polling stations and they will stay there overnight.

Along with 6,500 personnel of Islamabad Police, 1,000 FC, 1,500 Rangers, and Pakistan Army jawans will perform the duties.

A Central Control Room for elections has been set up in Safe City.

Vote Pakistan: General Elections 2024 data at a glance

Around 128 million registered voters of Pakistan are going to elect their new parliament today. The gender breakup of registered voters is 69 million males and 59 million are female.

Polling stations are 90,675 which includes 41,403 combined, 25,320 for male and 23,952 for women voters. The province-wise breakup is:

Punjab= 50,944

Sindh= 19,006,

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa=15,697, and

Balochistan= 5,028.

Moreover, there will be a total of 2,76,398 polling booths, including 1,47,552 male and 1,28,846 females.

Age breakup of voters is:

18-25 age 18.2%

26-35 age 25.9%

36-45 age 22.3%

46-55 age 14.4%

56-65 age 9.4%

66 plus age 9.5%
