ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Interior has increased the fines for violating traffic rules in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

In this regard, the Interior Ministry has issued a notification regarding the newly imposed fines.Traffic fines increased in Islamabad

According to the new notification, the minimum fine will be Rs 500.

The notification states that in case of over speeding, Rs 1,000 will be fined for motorcyclists, Rs 1,500 for motor cars, Rs 2,000 for PSV vehicles and Rs 2,500 for HTV vehicles.

A fine of Rs 1,500 will be imposed for using black glasses, Rs 2,000 for irresponsible driving, and Rs 2,500 for an underage driver.

Similarly, a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed for illegal parking and Rs 5,000 for one-wheeling.

Whereas Rs 1,000 will be charged as penalty for driving a motorcycle without a driving license, Rs 2,000 for driving a motor car, and Rs 8,000 for HTV and PSV vehicles.

The Islamabad Capital Police (ITP) urged the citizens to respect civil traffic rules and avoid heavy fines, noting that increase in fines is aimed at ensuring enforcement of traffic rules.

The Islamabad Police further said that adherence to traffic rules prevents accidents, and in this regard, it is running a vigorous campaign.
