A Parliamentary Delegation led by the Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani will participate in the meeting of Parliamentary Forum at the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on July 18, 2023 in New York to mark the mid-point in the 15-year run toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The theme of the meeting is “The mid-point toward the SDGs: taking stock of parliamentary action.” adopted in 2015 with a target date of 2030.

The forum will review the successes, failures and redirecting efforts accordingly.

It is pertinent to mention that the meeting will highlight the critical need for parliaments to invest considerably more in their own institutional processes, present practical illustrations of parliamentary action, and propose innovative solutions to unlock sustainable development.

The Parliamentary Delegation led by Zahid Akram Durrani comprises of Mr. Zahid Akram Durrani, Ms. Shazia Marri, MNA / Federal Minister for Poverty Social Safety Alleviation, Mr. Noor Alam Khan, MNA / Chairman Public Accounts Committee, Chaudhary Khalid Javaid Warraich, MNA /Parliamentary Secretary on Planning, Development & Special Initiative, Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam, MNA/ Convener SDG’s Taskforce.
