UAE19th Liwa Date Festival begins in UAE

The 19th Edition of the Liwa Date Festival has begun in Liwa, Al Dhafra Region of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The festival is being held from July 17-30, 2023 under the patronage of the Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.19th Liwa Date Festival begins in UAE

The Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) and Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee in Abu Dhabi Major-General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei said that the Liwa Date Festival celebrates the season of harvesting palm dates in the UAE, considered an authentic Emirati heritage.

The current session coincides with the Year of Sustainability.

The 19th Liwa Date Festival also reflects the directive of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support sustainable agricultural practices and the preservation of heritage.
