RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Friday left for the Islamic Republic of Iran on a two-day official visit.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the COAS will meet the Iranian Military and Civilian leadership during his visit to Iran.

During the visit, the COAS will discuss bilateral matters related to defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

Earlier in the day, General Asim Munir visited the Quetta Garrison where he was briefed on the recent terrorist attack in Zhob.

The COAS also visited the injured soldiers at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta, and lauded their services to the nation and appreciated their resolve.
