Embracing international standards and best practices, the Dubai Sports Council has introduced the world’s first-ever classification system for Fitness Centers.Classification System introduced for Fitness Centers in Dubai

Developed in collaboration with international fitness experts, this system aims to enhance professionalism in the fitness industry and elevate the quality of services in Fitness Centers in Dubai.

These Centers are now classified based on a star rating with the maximum being 5 stars.

The Classification System consists of 17 benchmark criteria and 82 sub-indicators used to evaluate all Fitness Centers.

The System was presented at the Middle East Fitness Summit in October 2022, and was praised by more than 1,000 participants in the Fitness Summit from specialists in various aspects of work and different nationalities.

The evaluation process has already started and the results will be announced in October.

Likewise, a development plan to continuously improve the level of quality of services for the distinguished and motivate those with the lowest classification will be shared with Centres to raise the level of their work and facilities to the quality of services and life in Dubai, according to studied scientific standards.

  2. Equipment Maintenance
  3. Sports Facilities
  4. Cleanliness
  5. Insurance & Safety
  6. Recovery Features
  7. Ratio of Instructors/ Members
  8. Certification of Instructors
  9. Personal Training Services
  10. Retention Rate & Membership Racking System (Membership Renewals Vs Leavers and Membership Access System)
  11. Group Fitness Classes
  12. Community and Anti-Doping Awareness
  13. Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire
  14. Nutrition
  15. Parking Availability
  16. General Satisfaction for Members & Staff
  17. Speciality Services Presented to Members
