A suicide bomber blew himself up near a barrier close to Ali Ibn-Abu-Talib Imambargah in the Aliabad area of Hazara town on Sunday night, killing at least 28 men and women of Shia Hazara community and wounding 60 others.

The proscribed Lashkar-i-Jhangvi has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, MWM Punjab’s Secretary General, said in an emergency news conference in Lahore on Sunday that the federal regime and state institutes are directly involved in terrorism activities.

The MWM leader added that talks of dialogues with terrorists are being done, instead of crushing those; the federal regime and state institutes want to maintain peace in only one province of the country.
