ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang has commended Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, and reiterated that China firmly supports Pakistan in its core issues and in international and regional affairs and forums.

“China commends Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and firmly believes that Pakistan will be victor in the counterterrorism,” the Chinese foreign minister while addressing a Joint Press Conference along with his Pakistani Counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari after the conclusion of the 4th round of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Saturday.

Qin Gang also remarked that China sincerely hopes that political forces in Pakistan can get together and overcome issues of political stability so that they can grow on the domestic and economic front together with us.China firmly supports Pakistan in its core issues: FM Qin Gang

Regarding the Afghanistan’s situation, he expressed hope that Taliban embraces the inclusive government, adding that it is important that Taliban addresses the security concerns of its neighbors.

In his remarks, the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that we appreciate China’s steadfast support on all our issues including its principled position on Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Bilawal Bhutto said that Pakistan and China have always supported each other on issues of core national interests in both bilateral engagements and at multilateral forums.

The foreign minister said that the partnership between the two Countries has grown over the years and enjoys consensus across generations and political divide. He said that both the Countries have stood with each other for decades and will continue to stand with each other in the decades to come.

Bilawal said that during our talks, we have had an in-depth exchange of views on the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation. He said that we agreed to the significance of this partnership for the mutual benefit of our two nations in the face of new developments.

The foreign minister further said that Pakistan will continue to firmly support China on all core issues of its national interests.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that this year marks the completion of a decade of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project which has accelerated socio economic development, job creation and improvement of people’s livelihoods in Pakistan. he said that this corridor project remains a win win economic initiative opened to all investors around the world.

The foreign minister emphatically stated that Pakistan is against bloc politics or greater power competition of any kind. He said that Pakistan looks forward to working together with all countries to address common challenges of development and connectivity.

Bilawal said that we are committed to remaining engaged with China to promote cooperation in the light of emerging global concerns like human induced climate change.

Bilawal Bhutto said that both Pakistan and China during the dialogue today also noted that peace and stability in Afghanistan remains vital for socio economic development, connectivity and prosperity in the region.

The foreign minister said that we will continue to work together with all stakeholders for a peaceful, stable, prosperous and united Afghanistan.
