ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development Sajid Hussain Turi has said that Labour Day is an occasion to acknowledge the valuable contributions of the workers and labourers in nation building and socio-economic development of the Country.

The minister said that workers and employers are backbone of our economy, and their collaboration and dedication is essentially needed to increase the rate of economic growth and to bring peace and harmony in the Country.

Sajid Hussain Turi said that the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development is working diligently of the betterment of the working class in the Country.

“It is our foremost commitment to formulate in the application of labour laws,” he said.

The federal minister said that the ministry is working closely with all Provincial governments and social partners to ensure the protection of fundamental labour rights across the Country.

Furthermore, he said that Pakistan has ratified 36 ILO Convention including eight fundamental conventions and is working rigorously for the effective implementation of these conventions.

The minister said that workers and employers are the pivotal part of our economy and skilled labour force plays an essential role in the socio-economic development of the Country.

“I reaffirm our ministry’s commitment to protect the fundamental rights of our labourers and workers,” he said.

“On this day, I greet the workers all across the Pakistan from the core of my heart and pray for their future well-being and prosperity. Pakistan Zindabad,” he added.
