SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan: The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday held a meeting with the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Saidov Baxtiyor Odilovich on the sidelines of the 4th Meeting of the Neighbouring Countries of Afghanistan in Samarkand.

​The two ministers exchanged views on the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan across all domains, especially connectivity, trade and investment and people to people contacts.

The two sides discussed progress on the Trans-Afghan Railways project among Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and agreed that its timely completion would enhance regional connectivity.

Both sides expressed satisfaction at the current trajectory of bilateral exchanges in the economic, trade and investment domains.

Early Operationalization of Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Pakistan and Uzbekistan was also discussed with a view to further enhancing bilateral trade.
