Being a Citizen of a Country, every living resident has the right to be awarded a legal identity which enables him or her to enjoy certain facilities/rights. No matter which caste, religion or race etc he or she belongs to, the authorities are legally bound to let him/her exercise their rights of possessing identity documents by issuing them.

Concurrently, it’s prerequisite on the part of the Citizens to realize the significance of those documents and file an application to receive them as per their requirements.

How to acquire a Juvenile Card in Pakistan?In Pakistan, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) – the Country’s premier body liable to issue identity documents – are approached by Citizens to the purpose.

The NADRA issues the following identity documents;
  • National Identity Card (NIC)
  • Juvenile Card (JV)
  • NIC for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
  • Pakistan Origin Card (POC)
  • Child Registration Certificate (CRC)
  • Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
  • Cancellation Certificate

How to acquire a Juvenile Card in Pakistan?Every person with 18 years of age or above requires to have a National Identity Card (NIC). However, those who haven’t yet turned 18 are issued CRC or Juvenile Card.

Though both the above-mentioned documents are meant to be issued for Children below 18 years or age, the Juvenile Card is different to the CRC as according to the NADRA, it is ‘Chip-Based Card’ and an ‘Entitled Document’ with multiple facilities.

Where to Apply for Juvenile Card?

  • The applicant needs to visit the nearby NADRA Registration Center (NRC) for the JV.
  • Child’s parents or legal guardian holding a valid NIC is required to be physically present at the NRC for biometrics.

Procedures while applying for the Card at the NRC:

  • The applicant will be issued a token
  • The applicant’s photograph will be captured
  • The applicant’s fingerprints and signature will be taken
  • The required data entry will be done and form will be printed to be reviewed by the applicant
  • The applicant will be handed over a printed version of his/her application form.

How long it takes to deliver the Juvenile Card after submitting the application?

  • 31 days for Normal Delivery
  • 23 days for Urgent Delivery
  • 9 days for Fast Track Delivery (Queue priority at NRCs for immediate processing)
